Professor Emeritus Dr. Sompong Witayasakpan has an M.A in Thai from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand and a Ph.D in Lingustics from the University of Washington, Seattle, U.S.A. He has over 30 years of experience teaching Thai as a Foreign Language at Chiang Mai University and at other prestigious universities around the globe. He has been serving as the Director of the Language Institute Chiang Mai University since October 2018.
